Words to be read in my absence:
<< I deeply regret not being able to be present on this historic moment
but
I am certainly with you in spirit. Let me congratulate the friends of the
Kavli Institute for their wisdom and forsight in supporting this exhibition.
Indeed, the intitiative of this Institute to join “Art, Images, and Science”
with an artist in residence and an exhibition space tears down barriers and
opens new frontiers. The barriers are those boxed ideas that have separated
the arts & sciences since the Renaissance. And the new frontiers will emerge
from this dialogue between the arts and sciences.
Let me also congratulate and thank Jean Pierre Hebert for his work in
assembling and curating this show. The most important thing about this show
is the way in which the work has been created and achieved. Each work has
been achieved with a carefully defined procedure created by the artist. Yet
each work remains a unique creation of its own.
I thank the Kavli Institute, Jean Pierre Hebert and my colleague artists for
the opportunity to have my work shown in this context.
